I've had some requests for information on how to get involved with contributing to NW Surf & Snow. One of our goals is to build a community of contributors that help shape this site and make it a great source for NW-local content. There are four ways to get involved:
The annual Clean Water Classic is next weekend (May 19 and 20) in Westport, Washington. It should be a great time again with surf, music, art, brews, food and friends.
This 10' Tuel (pics below) shaped for "Dave" and named "Mahalo's Bro" according to the inscription on the stringer has been crowding the lineup in the rafters of my garage since it got snapped in half by my brother Eli about five years ago. I picked the board up used at the old Seven Surfboards shop in Pacific City, Oregon on my honeymoon about 7 years ago.
The trees are sticking up through the fog on the coast range like charcoal sketches on off-white cotton, barely illuminated in the pre-dawn glimmer. My car’s vibrating on the asphalt pocked by wind-driven ocean spray and cracked from the shifting sand it overlays. It sounds like my board bags are going to tear as they slap and smack the roof in the buffeting wind.
Holy smokes. If this doesn't get your blood pumping, then I have no idea why you're on this site. I just ran across this teaser for the full-length film All. I. Can. The cinematography is unreal, the skiing makes my mouth water and I'm intrigued by the underlying environmental message. All I can think about now is getting my hands on a copy.
